While each patient’s cleft and treatment are unique, the common thread is the care and attention received by the LCPC providers.  We are all here to help families through this journey. 

Lancaster Cleft Palate Clinic and Penn State Hershey Medical Center have enjoyed a strong, long-standing relationship, that began in 1970–and unofficially, much earlier, when Dr. Rusty Long first created Milton Hershey’s own dentures!

 It is quite common for kids with a cleft to have missing teeth, malformed or malpositioned teeth, and bite problems such as underbites and crossbites. 

Our team works together with families to plan the best sequence of action for their child’s dental needs. 

Our social workers provide emotional and psychosocial support to patients and families. 

It is very common to have hearing loss, recurrent ear infections, and other ear problems related to you child’s cleft.

We offer a free prenatal/pre-adoption consult that is designed to empower our families so when their baby/child arrives, they have been educated on caring for a child with a cleft lip and/or cleft palate.
